An energy cleansing kit is a collection of tools used to clear negative energy from your home, your body, and your space. Here is what to include and how to use each item.
The essentials
A basic kit includes: sage or palo santo (for smudging), a selenite or clear quartz crystal, sea salt (for absorbing), a small bowl, and a feather or fan (for directing smoke). Optional: bells, singing bowls, or essential oils.
How to use sage (smudging)
Light the sage, let it smoke, then walk through each room — especially corners and doorways — while setting the intention to clear negative energy. Open a window first so the energy (and smoke) can leave. Extinguish safely in a fireproof dish.
How to use crystals
Selenite and clear quartz absorb and transmute negative energy. Place them in corners, by doors, or where you spend the most time. Cleanse the crystals themselves monthly: rinse in water, bury in salt overnight, or leave in moonlight.
How to use salt
Sea salt absorbs negative energy. Place small bowls of salt in corners of rooms (change weekly), add a pinch to your bath, or use it to 'sweep' energy from floors before mopping.
When to cleanse
After arguments, illness, or stressful events; when moving into a new home; after guests leave; monthly as maintenance; and especially during the full moon or new moon. Trust your feeling — if a space feels heavy, cleanse it.
